The Need To Feel Free
Share
As a Black woman living in America 🇺🇸, it is quite often that I feel stuck in what many people call, “the rat race.” 🐀
After so many years of trying and feeling unsuccessful at many of my attempted feats, I’ve come to the realization that I am stuck doing the same things repeatedly. ♾️
Even though the things I attempt are all completely different from one another, like switching from customer service to the medical field, or switching from a meat eater to a vegan, or even from living in Las Vegas back to the San Francisco Bay Area, it all produced the same results. 🙃
Same book 📕 different chapter type of vibe.
And to be honest, all of the unsuccessful business ventures I have had and all of the schooling I have completed hasn’t put me in much of a different place in my life or career.
The culprit seems to be the feeling of stagnation! 😱
Stagnation in romantic 💝 and platonic relationships. Stagnation in my career 💼. And most definitely stagnation in my environment 🏡 .
In the last year of my twenties, I solemnly swear to myself that I will free myself from the chains ⛓️💥 of stagnation.
Even my subconscious mind tried to warn me of this “feeling stuck” cycle 🔁 in a very creepy dream 😴.
SO…I took notes 📝 of the areas I need some tweaking in 🔧 and now I am ready to move on.
Major Ki Advice
If you feel the same way, here are some of the things I am implementing that may also help you:
1. Take notes on your life and the areas you want to change.
2. Write a bucket list and start checking off the 💡 ideas.
3. Credential stacking. Get more certifications, licenses, etc. 🧠
4. Create a professional portfolio for yourself (actually print it and put it in a binder.)
5. Travel sold 🧭 more often.
6. Meet new people with different interests. (We often find people who like the same things as we do, but opposites definitely have more fun. 🤩
